Laura Goodswen - Head Coach

I joined Diss Otters in 2019 as the junior squad coach and in September 2022 I was appointed head coach. My main role is to work with our swimmers and squad coaches to create positive experiences and provide a secure caring environment where every member is valued and encouraged to work together as a team, to achieve their full potential.

Prior to embarking on my coaching career, I swam competitively for 10 years with City of Norwich Swimming Club.  I have many achievements including medalling at National and Regional championships and winning numerous County titles. My favourite stroke is backstroke.

After finishing swimming, I became a level 2 swimming teacher and level 2 swimming coach. I have now been teaching/ coaching for 16 years. I also hold a degree in sports coaching, sports development, and PE. I currently combine coaching with my School Games Organiser position at South Norfolk School Sport Partnership.

My coaching aim: To inspire the next generation of swimmers and encourage them to have FUN and enjoy their swimming training and competitions
